WIG crafts such as TransAquatis® depend on the IMO and not on the ICAO, although their operating mode in cruising is an aerodynamic one.

If the nautical regulation is definitely less constraining and thus less expensive than the aeronautical regulation, it remains less true about it than the little of ship in service in the world and in particular in occident did not allow creating a precise regulation.  Only the 1054 circular of the IMO fixes some recommendations, each state remaining sovereign as for its application.  TransAquatis team and partners work in permanent link with French authorities to follow our products development and to guaranty the applicability of rules.

The category of TransAquatis® design is Type B. It is the more operational design, avoiding too constraining sea state limitations and not considerate as an airplane, so less constraining in terms of regulation.
